HOW EDUCATION HAS CHANGED OVER TIME
HOW EDUCATION HAS CHANGED OVER TIMEIt is known to all that education over the years has evolved and has undergone important changes, which some consider for the better and others not so much, but what is important to highlight is that there are two main factors that have revolutionized the way in which the one we understood then and now the classes: the methodology of learning and new technologies.
In the past, teaching relied heavily on theory and little on practice.
The way of learning was based on repetition. To study, the student mentally
repeated the lesson, memorized it, and with that he already took a topic or
lesson for learned. It was about “capturing” data, but without necessarily
understanding or internalizing it, now education is more participatory and
teaching is more advanced and practical, where teacher and student are two
actors who are at the same level.
The teacher is no longer imposed so much and the student has gone from being a passive object to an active one. Their participation and motivation are promoted, being also encouraged.
4 DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BEFORE AND NOW´S EDUCATION
1. HARD WORK AND DISCIPLINE
In the education of several years ago, effort and discipline predominated and within it certain aggressions were also in a certain way normalized. Pulling a student out of the classroom with a pinch of the earthese days would be unthinkable and far-fetched, but it was very normal in schools a few years ago.
2. PARENTS NOW DO NOT ACCEPT CRITICISM OF THEIR CHILDREN
In the education of several years ago, effort and discipline predominated and within it certainaggressions were also in a certain way normalized. Pulling a student out of the classroom with apinch of the ear these days would be unthinkable and far-fetched, but it was very normal inschools a few years ago.3. MATERIALSAs for the materials, before the notebook, the book and the pen were the fundamental tools, even before the teacher took to class models, maps, the mannequin of the human body andspreadsheets with the graphics that he intended to show the students. Now teachers havevirtual classrooms in which smart boards have replaced the chalk board, they also haveergonomic school furniture that favors student performance.
4. EDUCATIONAL AND BIBLIOGRAPHIC RESOURCESBefore the Internet appeared in our lives, to do research on any subject you had to go to alibrary and ask for the books you needed. Now Google tells you everything with the simple factof typing what you need and in a matter of seconds you have it in front of you. We considerthat we could no longer live without many of the comforts that the mobile phone gives us,surely many children wonder how we were able to study before without the Internet.
and you,How do you think education will be in the coming years?

i think educaton will go full on digital, im not saying its going to be in the next 5 years, but, i dont see students in the year 2121 still using regular books, or writing notes on a paper notebook, i think teachers WILL saty in the classroom, but maybe as a guide instead of a main key factor
ReplyDeleteHi Ise!! Well, yes, you are right, education has changed so much since I was in elementary school, and we have also been transforming ourselves as students and now as teachers, I believe that in the following years education will be more digitized, maybe we can be in a virtual classroom with students from all over the world or as teachers we can have different students from far away parts of where we are, I don't know 🤷♀️ that's just what I imagine but I think it wouldn't be so difficult to think in these times hahaha 😂🥴 regards 👋
ReplyDeleteHELLO ISE!!
ReplyDeleteYou know I find quite interesting what you are writing about, because who can really say all changes are good or bad? We can’t wait to see the results of this generation as professional how will they transform reality and society, because all of the changes and progress that we are enjoying with technology came from all of these hard-working people that learn with the old methods and without technology.
As you said I remember if I wanted to learn something I needed a book or a library I guess that my love for books comes from that need, I like all the advantages we get as teachers and as student from technology but really do you think we will go to the next level?
Because society needs it!
Let’s just hope for the best
I what I think is that we will be educated in some many new thins and ways than I can’t even imagine them.
Honestly I don't know how education will be in more years but I relly hope it for the best .
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this information Isela, I believe it is important to recognize that there must be a balance in pedagogy, we should not exaggerate the use of some methodologies, materials, strategies or activities, because let us remember that excesses sometimes are not necessary. As with technology for me it is important to combine t with other resources that complement the development of the objectives. Thank you.
